šø Ford Focus Mk2 Common Problems
Just like the rest of America, one more that thinks 12 volts is enough to crank a car. WRONG. If the battery measures anything less than 12.3 volts it is low enough to cause this issue, and the battery is the most common cause of this problem.

There is talk of this problem on Ford forums about a door being partially open, but I have not read anything on a resolution besides take it to a Ford dealer.

I have an old 2005 Mk2 Focus. Its slowly started developing a general knocking sound that isn't really dependent on any particular driving conditions - i.e. it'll do it when going slow/fast, on smooth/bumpy roads, going straight/turning. Imagine the kind of sound of someone doing a single knock on the car door or window every so often. The
There are many problems related to the Ford Focus form since the 1998 Europe model. All the problems are common in mk2 and mk3 but the most common problems in ford focus are mileage display isnāt working showing dash, unfortunately, and giving doubtful information, sometimes also just off and on display. It seems very problematic.
Posted June 28, 2010. Over the course of the last week my 56 plate Ford Focus has developed a problem with the ignition. Almost everytime I get in the car now, the key won't turn from position 2 to position 3. Eventually after taking the key out and inserting it again a number of times, it will work, but it seems completely random.
This is a serious problem from ford focus . I think only the brazilian ford focus have this problem . its a common fault on the mk2 & mk2.5 model from 2005-2011.
The first thing that you would want to do is locate the fuse for your Focusās radiator fan and make sure that it hasnāt blown. If it is blown, replacing the fuse will only solve the problem for a very limited period of time. Unless the wiring issue is fixed, the fuse will blow again. The wiring harness itself can go bad.
No, the focus MK1 was the last focus using the ignition key with blue insert. On the Focus MK2 (and also the C-max) Ford used a different type of PATS chip. From the Focus MK2 it is not possible anymore to program extra ignition keys yourself. The ignition keys with blue insert are used on the old TIMED PATS system.
Hi everyone, My 07 focus has an issue with the airbag light. If I drive the car I have the seat quite far back, when the mrs drives it and pulls the seat forward the airbag light comes on. Ive wiggled and moved the cable under the drivers seat and sometimes it stays off, other times it comes on.
Update from today. Jesus holy christ. I'm in. Screwdriver trick didn't work. Jack up the car, remove the panels, reach up and unscrew the 10mm bolts on the lock. The right one is ok with a spanner, the left one was very hard to reach but you can get two hands up to guide a small ratchet onto it, then it's plain sailing.
As already said the parts are cheap off eBay second hand - I just bought a fuel pump for £15 and its sorted all my starting and running problems, when a new Ford one would have cost over £150 and even a non ford part would have cost £90 - did my own mechanics removed the tank and fitted it - Garage wanted £450 for the job - total cost for
The 1.5-litre petrol engine has been switched from the multi-link rear suspension to a cheaper, simpler torsion beam setup, leaving only the 2.0-litre diesel models with the multi-link setup. Which seems to indicate that as of mid-2019 only the 2.0 litre diesel has been equipped with it.
